In the case of Windows or Android-based phones, the network indicator at the top of your screen will tell whether you are using Wi-Fi or GPRS (3G or 3.5G). With Nokia handsets, a pop-up announcing “Connecting via PCCW 3G” or “Connecting via Netvigator Hotspot” will provide the relevant information.
If you want to opt for Wi-Fi over GPRS, you can use the “manual select network” phone setting. Nokia users should go to Menu>Web>Options>Settings>Access point and choose “Always ask”. For more information, please go to PCCW WiFi webpage.
You can dial *139#, from your handset. We will automatically push you an SMS containing your voice and GPRS usage.
For Android phone user:
You have to check if you are using online widgets (eg. Weather, news always on, stock, gmail etc…). If you want to turn off the widget, please go to widget setting.
If you have not turned on any online widget, approximately
600KB GPRS will be consumed every 12 hours for phone updates.
If you have turned on ALL online widgets, GPRS consumption can be up to
30MB every 12 hours.
For N97 or N97mini users:
If you have not turned on any online widget, no GPRS will be consumed every 12 hours for phone updates.
If you have turned on ALL online widgets, GPRS consumption can be up to 108MB every 12 hours.
