Frequently Asked Questions on Mobile Data

General data
Q1.
How will I know if I am using GPRS or Wi-Fi?
Connecting via “Netvigator Hotspot”

In the case of Windows or Android-based phones, the network indicator at the top of your screen will tell whether you are using Wi-Fi or GPRS (3G or 3.5G). With Nokia handsets, a pop-up announcing “Connecting via PCCW 3G” or “Connecting via Netvigator Hotspot” will provide the relevant information.

If you want to opt for Wi-Fi over GPRS, you can use the “manual select network” phone setting. Nokia users should go to Menu>Web>Options>Settings>Access point and choose “Always ask”. For more information, please go to PCCW WiFi webpage.

Q2.
How can I keep track on my GPRS usage?

You can dial *139#, from your handset. We will automatically push you an SMS containing your voice and GPRS usage.
