Q1  GETTING STARTED

1. Do I need to register for the MMS service?
Yes. Please press *101# on your MMS-enabled handset and follow the voice prompts. They will guide you through activating the service which will become available within 4 hours.

2. Why can't I send and receive MMS messages even after registering for the service?
There are 4 possibilities:
- If you have just registered, the service will become available after 4 hours.
- Your MMS profile has not been set up properly.
- Your handset is not MMS and GPRS-enabled
- Your handset memory store of MMS messages is already full.

3. How can I login?
You can login to www.pccwmobile.com and tour the Downloadies section with the same username and 6-digit passcode that you use to access My Account.

4. Can I cancel MMS registration?
To cancel your registration, please call our PCCW Consumer Service Hotline1000 or Business Customer Hotline 10088.


Q2  CHARGES

1. What are the service charges?

  • You do not need to subscribe to a monthly plan.
  • Charges will be based on the number of MMS message sent. No additional charge will be made for GPRS usage. Recipient charges have been waived for the promotion period. For details of MMS download and dedication charges, please refer to www.pccwmobile.com

Q3  ABOUT MMS

1. What is MMS?
MMS stands for Multimedia Messaging Service which enables you to send a message with images, voice, music and text.

2. Can I send an MMS message to my friend who does not have an MMS handset?
No. Your friend must also have an MMS-enabled handset.

3. Can I send MMS messages to friends if they are not PCCW mobile subscribers? 
Yes, you can send MMS messages to your friends via any local mobile service operator. You can also send MMS messages to friends overseas by MMS or email.

4. Can I send an MMS message to my friend's email account?
Yes, but the MMS message may not be displayed properly in the email. This depends on the software your friends are using. Your friends will be unable to reply or send an email to that MMS email address.

5. What is the maximum file size of an MMS message?
300KByte, however also depend on handset model.

6. I can receive an MMS message with an audio attachment, but I cannot hear the music. Why?
Please check your handset - it may be set in Meeting or Silent mode.

7. Does MMS support Chinese?
Yes, as long as your handset supports Chinese character display.

8. Are all MMS messages bilingual?
Most of our MMS messages are bilingual. However, a few services may only be available in Chinese so it is important to refer to each service for details.

9. How many characters are allowed in each MMS message?
There is no limit to the number of characters in an MMS message although different handsets have varying limits on total MMS size.


Q4  ROAMING

1. Can I receive MMS messages while overseas?
Yes, however also depend on roaming operator arrangement. Roaming GPRS charges will be levied when MMS are sent or received.
